Friday night Carter was a little snuffy, Saturday he woke up with a fever and had the full blown flu. When he woke up from his nap today his medicine had worn off so he was super hot, I took his temp and he was at 105.5, yikes. But after some ibuprofin and some ice packs his temp came back down, and he even carved a pumpkin! So Chris (who by the way, as I sit here typing this is complaining of being hot and is sneezing) will be staying home with him tomorrow. And all I can do now is pray that the Airborne I have been drinking will protect me.
My New Job
Yes yes, I have completed my first week at work. It was very interesting to say the least. My first day was basic orientation, giving me a tour of the building and introducing me to a million people. They also gave me 2 company t-shirts, an engraved stainless steel coffee mug, and a Camelbak water bottle. They also had my desk stocked with lots of supplies. The next two days I had training, all day both days. And the final two days I was on my own practicing what I had learned on live policies. I will practice for another week and a half and then they will teach me something new. It is very exciting, and I enjoy the challenge of it. The people are all very nice, and my trainer never gets mad or frustrated with me (at least not outwardly), no matter how many times I call her with questions.
This whole thing is very new to me and to Chris – I have our lives are just going to fly by now…..and we will just hold on for the ride.

The Host is going to be a movie!
I was excited to hear yesterday that the movie rights for The Host ( another book by Stephenie Meyer) have been purchased. I am going to take this time to recommend my casting suggestions for a few of the characters.

What happens when a 5 year old gets a camera?
So Maddie got a new camera from us for her birthday so she gave her old (and mostly useless) camera to Carter. I was looking through his pictures yesterday and this is what I saw…..all in a row….made me Laugh Out Loud, still does.
Admit it. You laughed.
I Got a Job
Yes sir/mam, I am re-entering the workforce. I know technically I have worked at the church for the last 4 years, but this time I will not have Carter with me and I will br working full-time. The company is called NSI (National Specialty Insurance), it is a division of West Bend Mutual. I will be an Underwriting Tech. The company seems really great and there is room for movement and growth, all wonderful things.
I start October 5th!

Packer Opening Game
- Show me a good loser, and I’ll show you a loser.
- The real glory is being knocked to your knees and then coming back. That’s real glory. That’s the essence of it.
- We didn’t lose the game; we just ran out of time.
- If it doesn’t matter who wins or loses, then why do they keep score?
